Parc Asterix – how can you not want to go?

Posted by Miss Maccy on Aug 2, 2009 in France

The website for Parc Asterix is all in French, and as my French is a little lacking, I ran the one of the pages through the handy dandy Google-translatometer:

Gauloiseries for the whole family

One thing is certain: the Gauls have the sense of celebration. So when it comes to entertain Petibonum and their parents, Parc Astérix is small in large pots. The result is dramatic and leaves everyone Baba .. orum. At Theater of Poseidon, attend one of the finest performances of current Dolphins, where animal trainer and offers a ballet aquatix wonder that, certainly, big and small.
In good Gauls immoderation you like? So do not miss your hands on the Mona Lisa: a breathtaking spectacle that combines magnificent scenery, stunts, special effects .. An incredible show that will live as a family adventure really fantastix.
And as countries Gauls, the emotions do not expect the number of years, Parc Astérix offers several attractions like Grand Splatch wonder where feelings and make appointments to young people … but never fear them too. This is just a preview, then quickly learn other attractions to have a vision of Panoramix step in your tour de Gaule Family.

Butchered mercilessly (I think) from here:

Castle in the Black

Castle in the Black.

Here’s the photo that I think was missing from the beautiful HD shots of Paris. Not that this is Paris, mind you, but who says Disneyland isn’t beautiful? Cultural snobbery, that’s what it is. Just as interesting to parents of young travellers is the brief debate – is it worth is taking under five year olds to Disneyland because they “won’t remember it’? My vote is yes.

Apple – iPhone for Travel

Posted by Miss Maccy on Jul 11, 2009 in Gizmos

Apple – iPhone in Business – Profiles – ArtusLabs.

Well it just reinforces the point I’ve been harping on about forever (stop yawning already!) that the iphone replaces a whole bunch of other gadgets, especially while travelling. For instance, we just sold our portable GPS unit on ebay. Although we don’t have a turn-by-turn voice navigation app installed yet, we’ve found Google maps a more than adequate replacement. Two examples of the mobile navigation apps available are:

TomTom is said to be working on one for release as well.

Is this the end for Sat Nav?
